Jennifer Winget - Sangam - TV Actress

Jennifer Winget - Sangam - Sneha - Kasauti
Jennifer Winget

Jennifer Winget is easily one of the prettiest faces on television that I have seen in a while now & she has been at it for a good few years. I recently caught her on a saas bahu show where she was supposed to play a much older role than she really is & i really though thats some talent being wasted up there. And she was being wasted in 2nd & 3rd leads. But then came along Sangam (a TV Serial on Star Plus) where Jennifer is looking as beautiful as ever. This role of a shy simple smalltown girl suits her very much, her face has that innocence to carry off this role. And on top of it ..does seem to be a real character that one might come across in everyday life.

Asin Thottumkal - Tamil Actress - Ghajini

Asin Thottumkal - Tamil Actress - Ghajini
Asin Thottumkal

Asin Thottumkal Biography

Asin Thottumkal October 26, 1985) is an award-winning Indian film actress who appears in various regional Indian movies. Making her acting debut in Sathyan Anthikkad's Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress for the film. After a number of critically and commercially successful films, Asin received her second South Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in her second Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). She played the lead female roles in two consecutive top grossers, Ghajini (2005) which is her biggest commercial success to date, and the action comedy Varalaru (2006) and this way has established herself as one of the most prominent leading actresses of South Indian cinema. More recently, Asin has been making a debut in Bollywood, in Ghajini, the remake of its Tamil namesake.

Asin's Career

Asin Thottumkal debuted in the Malayalam film Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2009, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. Her breakthrough as an actress came with her first Telugu language film when she played the role of a Tamil girl in the successful Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi opposite Ravi Teja.

Initially many in the Tamil industry considered her to be a jinx as the initial movies she signed in Tamil were either canceled, delayed or faced financial problems. Although she signed Ullam Ketkumae as her first Tamil film, her first release was M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi which was a remake of her Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. The movie went on to be one of the biggest hits in 2004 and introduced Asin to Kollywood.

Her movie Ghajini with Surya, which was released both in Tamil and Telugu, was a box office hit in both industries. She has become famous since then and went on to win the Filmfare Best Actress Award South for her role in Ghajini. Many movies followed and Asin played opposite some popular actors in South Indian Cinema, among them Surya, Vijay, Vikram and Ajith, with whom she starred in Pokiri with Vijay, Gharshana with Venkatesh, Maja with Vikram and Varalaru& Aalwar with Ajith Kumar.

Asin is also brand ambassador for various products including Spinz Simply Asin, Fairever, Colgate (Max Fresh) and Mirinda both in Tamil and Hindi (alongside Zayed Khan). She was also a part of Mani Ratnam's stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai alongside many other co-stars.

She dropped out of Surya's Sillunu Oru Kaadhal even after being offered three songs as she thought her role in the movie had not much scope. Her part went to Bhumika Chawla. She also had previously dropped out of Madhavan's Thambi due to tight scheduling.

Her next movie for release Dasavatharam opposite Kamal Haasan and it will be dubbed in 5 languages including Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, French and Hindi. The movie Ghajini that was released in the Kollywood some time back did very good business and also got the fame and name to the actor, Surya, and actress, Asin, in the movie.[1]. After being touted as the dream couple in Tamil cinema, they are joining hands for Vel which has been slotted to be released for Deepavali 2007.

She has signed on for the remake of the Tamil hit movie Ghajini with none other than Bollywood hearthrob Aamir Khan. This move has been looked at as very promising for Asin as she is one of the few Kollywood actresses to break into Bollywood following 80s Tamil actress Sri Devi being the last successful person.

Asin's Career

She has completed her B.A. English Literature at St. Teresa's College, Kochi. She has shifted from her home town Kochi to Chennai, where she stays on Harrington Road. Before becoming an actress, she was a part-time model and a businesswoman.

Manasi Scott Biography

Manasi Scott started singing at the age of 8, when she won the first of many singing competitions. An "Army brat", growing up, she has had the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of the Indian sub-continent with her surgeon father (still serving in the Army) and her doctor mother, who were both singers during their graduation from the Armed Forces Medical College. Studying in exotic places like Bhutan and Indian cities like Pitthoragarh, she has had the opportunity of being a witness to many cultures, turning her into a truly proud and patriotic Indian.

Her first professional singing performance, at the age of 12, had her father backing her on drums (as he was a star drummer-singer in his college days), and from then on she experimented with professional theatre and compering, all for extra pocket-money, not once seriously planning a career in show biz.

An 'A' grade student, she was also passionate about her extra-curricular activities, going on to play State-level basketball and hockey and winning many an inter-state Karate and equestrian championships. A stationary black belt in Karate (of the Shito-Ryo school), her love for martial arts and horses stays with her till date.

A topper in her board examinations, she continued the trend in her software engineering degree and went on to do a post graduation in film and television, with the ultimate aim of a career in special effects in films. A call to the Indian Air-force to be a pilot, a stint in the film industry as assistant director, hosting the "Breakfast Show" on RED FM and even acting did not satisfy her hunger for being in the limelight.

After her marriage to model turned fitness consultant, the hunky Craig Scott, when he urged her to pursue her childhood dream of being a singer, did she finally work towards a career in entertainment, kick-starting her career hosting and performing in shows for some of India's biggest names. (Refer to Curriculum Vitae .)

In her journey so far, of over four years of performing 'Live' on stage as a singer and Master of Ceremonies, in over 400 shows, she has often been referred to as the "Ultimate entertainer" (Citadel 2004). With an impeccable fashion sense, a glorious stage persona and a unique voice, she has traveled internationally doing what she does best -performing and hosting shows.

Manasi has hosted the Wisden Cricket Awards 'Live' on ESPN/STAR SPORTS, performed in and hosted the Bollywood Fashion Awards in USA, toured with the Neeta Lulla Devdas Tour, held her own with co-host Shekhar Suman at the Images Fashion Awards, even matched wits with co-host Siddharth Basu at the Teacher's Achievement Awards and hosted the prestigious Abby's in 2005. She toured 12 cities in USA and Canada and 4 in UK, sharing the lime light with performers like Adnan Sami, Raghav and Sunidhi Chauhan and was given appreciation in many international tabloids as the "next Indian singing sensation", "a pakka Indian Britney Spears" and "India's answer to Jlo".

Though her first 2 albums (East Light and Temple Tree) released in Australia, through Australian poet turned music director, Kelvin Brown, her brand new Indi-pop album Naach Le, released in India in April 2005. Her visit video, the title track "Naach Le" climbed the charts right up to number 3, and continues to remain on the Channel V Top 40 even to this day.

Panchi Bora - TV Actress

Panchi Bora

Panchi Bora, an Indian model from Assam, who got her big break under the Balaji Telefilms' banner after winning a talent hunt, found yet another offer for a lead role from the well-known production house too good to be true.More than a year after featuring in Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, the first ever soap to be aired on MTV, Panchi has now bagged the role of Praachi in Ekta Kapoor's brand new soap, Kayamath, to be aired on Star Plus from next week.

Supportive parents

"I am really thrilled. Though I am in the second year of my BA from Ferguson College in Pune, I couldn't refuse this offer as it was too good," says Panchi. All of 21, Panchi, after featuring in Kitni Mast... as Ananya, received several advertisement offers before she decided to take a break from work to finish her studies. But it has to wait for sometime now, and her parents, she says, are not complaining.

"My parents have always supported me in this. Even my guru, who lives in Vasishtha Ashram near Guwahati, has asked me to go ahead with it," she says. Though originally from Assam, her father, after serving the Army for many years, settled down in Pune.

Talking about her role in Kayamath, Panchi says, "Prachi is a simple girl, very shy and attached to her family. She is someone who believes in fairy tale romances and awaits her Prince Charming. She is unlike me in real life but I have learnt a lot about such people by observing my sister who is very much like Prachi." A Monday-to-Thursday soap, Kayamath will be slotted at 11 p.m., replacing Kahin Toh Hoga.

"Ekta herself is on the sets, telling us what is expected of each one of us," says Panchi, who is shooting 12 hours a day these days to keep the daily rolling.
